Facilities

We are using the facilities of the group of Prof. Stefan Weber at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the University of Freiburg.

EPR spectroscopy

The EPR laboratories host a state-of-the-art continuous wave and pulse EPR spectrometer (Bruker ELEXSYS E580) operating at X- and Q-band frequencies (9.75 and 34 GHz). It has ENDOR and ELDOR capabilities and is equipped with an arbitrary waveform generator (AWG).

A diode-pumped nanosecond laser system is used to optically excite the samples studied by EPR.

Optical experiments

Our laboratories are equipped with UV-vis, fluorescence, and transient absorption spectrometers for a basic optical characterisation of the compounds we are investigating.

For ultrafast optical experiments, we are working in collaboration with the group of Prof. Peter Gilch at the University of Düsseldorf.
